Setting Up Cost Optimization Alerts in CostQ
CostQ allows you to set up automated alerts to track AWS spending and get notified of anomalies.
📌 Step 1: Navigate to Alerts​
- Log into CostQ.
- Go to Settings → Cost Alerts.
- Click "Create New Alert".
📌 Step 2: Configure Alert Settings​
- Alert Type: Choose from:
- 📈 Budget Exceeded (e.g., Spend > $500)
- 🚀 Unusual Cost Spike (e.g., 20% increase in a day)
- 📉 Unused Resources (e.g., idle EC2 instances)
- Threshold: Set a spending limit or anomaly detection level.
- Notification Method: Choose Email, Slack, or Webhook.
📌 Step 3: Save and Activate Alerts​
- Click Save Alert.
- Enable the alert to start monitoring.
- Test it by simulating cost changes.

- Check your spam folder or update your notification email.
- Verify Slack or Webhook settings.
